Ms. Christen Cuevas
This is my second year teaching 2nd grade at Isle of Hope and I am thrilled! I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I have had the pleasure of teaching since 2007 in Chatham County, and am so excited to be a part of Isle of Hope! My passion is teaching and nothing makes me happier to watch and contribute to a child’s learning. I love and consider each and every one of my students a part of my family. I have had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten, First Grade, EIP, and Second Grade!
I am originally from Washington D.C., but have had the pleasure of living in Florida, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Hilton Head Island. As you can see.. I love the beach! I enjoy traveling, and learning about different cultures. I speak quite a bit of Spanish as well. One thing a lot of people do not know about me is I am a World Champion in Martial Arts. I also absolutely LOVE TO DANCE! In my free time I love to travel, spend time with my family, and go dancing. I love dancing to all music, but especially enjoy Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue.
As my babies already know.. the love of my life is my son Christopher Cuevas who also attends at Isle of Hope. Please feel to contact me through the link below.

Student teacher - Spring 2016
Ms. Emily Losert
We are excited to have Ms. Emily Losert, senior at Armstrong State University. as our student teacher candidate for the Spring 2016 semester! Emily is originally from Warner Robins, GA, but moved to Savannah in the fall of 2012 to attend college. She has studied Early Childhood education for 4 years at Armstrong and will graduate in May 2016.
In her free time she loves to be outdoors, spend time in the many parks that can be found in Savannah's historic district and play soccer. She also loves being able to express her artistic side by creating door displays based on what the students are studying or interested in. As seen at the top of the page, is a picture of "The Giving Tree" door Ms. Losert created, inspired by their book study of the short story written by Shel Silverstein.
Teaching has always been something Emily has been drawn to and has a passion for helping students reach their goals. She loves every aspect of the teaching profession, especially that it is ever-changing. The students enjoy her upbeat energy and creative learning tasks. Ms. Losert has been able to grow as a future educator by being a part of the Fiddler Family at Isle of Hope and we can't wait to see what her future holds!
